Training Points come from runs, money drops, and achievements. The General tree mixes Strength/Intellect-style lines (bigger bullets, crit damage, experience, reload, magnets, and more). Most upgrades historically have multiple ranks.

| Training habit | Why |
|---|---|
| Unlock upper rows first | Lower nodes gate higher ones |
| Try magnets / happiness early | Steadier XP and hearts |
| Respec after a failed theory | Refund is free |
| Account level thresholds | Level 10/20/30 historically open more upgrades |
Run XP upgrades are temporary. Training is permanent until you respec. Do not confuse the two menus.
Each Survivor has a specialization tree. Points accrue when that Survivor participates in runs — not only as Leader — so SOS partners still grow.
| Specialization tip | Detail |
|---|---|
| Field them to earn points | Rescue counts |
| Lead to Rank | Rank is separate from specialization points |
| Buy synergy nodes when gated | See synergies |
| 1.0 nodes | Extra passives / team nodes at high Rank — TBA values |
Spreading one point across nine trees feels busy. Finish a starter specialization loop before painting the whole roster.
Rank rises when you lead a Survivor and bank kills. Higher Rank strengthens Leader Perks and unlocks power-ups / nodes. Historical gates: Rank 2 around 5,000 Leader kills, Rank 3 after additional large kill counts; Rank 5 arrives in 1.0 with new nodes.
| Rank idea | Player action |
|---|---|
| Perk strength | Lead to gain full perk + Rank |
| Unlocks | Weapons / Abilities historically gate on Rank |
| Rank 5 (1.0) | New synergies and team passives — values TBA |
| Rescue only | Partial perk; weak Rank progress |
Use the tier list to choose who to lead for a week.

Badges are categorized meta bonuses (Gunner, Critical, Tough, Bomber, Ninja, and similar public categories). Prestige is the endgame reset/ascend layer once you are ready to break limits again.
| System | When to care |
|---|---|
| Badges | After basic Training feels online |
| Missions / Friendship (1.0) | Parallel to Training — Camp hub |
| Prestige | After you understand Rank 5 and Torments |
| Torments (28) | Challenge modifiers — details TBA |
1.0 lists 15 Main Story, 45 Survivor, and 19 Repeatable missions. Use Mission Log between runs instead of only grinding blind arenas.
A practical early spend order for most accounts.

The Yet Another Zombie Survivors upgrade guide only works if respecs are intentional. Change one theory per night: magnets, sustain, or crit — not all three.
| Focus | Detail | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Prereq pass | Unlock upper rows | Stop if a node is gray |
| QoL pass | Magnets / happiness | Measure gem pickup comfort |
| Sustain pass | HP/regen/armor style | Fewer wipes before minute 10 |
| Damage pass | After sustain works | Match your Leader tags |
| Rank pass | Lead one Survivor | Specialization + Rank together |
| Mission pass | Camp Mission Log | Friendship beside Training |
A full refund is permission to experiment, not permission to thrash. If you respec every death, you never learn whether a tree was wrong or your SOS timing was wrong. Pair with tips.
When a specialization node lists a pairing passive, field the required Survivors the same week. Otherwise you bought text. See synergies.
A Training month for Yet Another Zombie Survivors should sequence prerequisites, magnets, sustain, then damage aligned to your Rank project — with at most one respec theory per week.
Specialization points from SOS participation mean you can grow a partner tree while leading someone else, but Rank still wants Leadership. Do not confuse those currencies.
| Situation | Do this | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Prereqs + magnets | Deep glass nodes |
| Week 2 | Sustain lines | Respec every death |
| Week 3 | Damage for Leader tags | Off-tag vanity nodes |
| Week 4 | Rank + Missions | Ignoring Camp board |
| After patch | Re-read Rank 5 | Trusting old sheets |

Yes — participation earns specialization; Rank wants Leadership.
1.0 expands Rank to 5 with new nodes and synergies. Exact values TBA.
Runs, drops, and achievements primarily.
Public notes include achievements as a Training Point source alongside runs and drops. That is another reason trophy nights double as meta progress.
There is no universal answer. Unlock prerequisites first, buy magnets and sustain, then invest damage lines that match your Leader tags. Respec if the theory fails.
Camp Missions and related systems introduce Friendship-style meta progress beside Training. Check Mission Log between runs instead of only grinding blind arenas.
